Presence/ing: A Performance Walk
(2023)
Laura Neese | Dance Projects
Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art, Snug Harbor Cultural Center
In Presence/ing, Neese and collaborators invite audience-participants on an interactive performance walk, to explore sensations of place, space, and body. Through a series of choreographic vignettes crafted specifically for the site, dancers engage with architecture and improvisational structures. Improvisation and adaptation, inform a dance that will only live in this site, in this moment, in the now. A dance of dialogue between mind and body, body and earth, self and community. Presence/ing.
